I think he said he was so awesome, but he preceded it by cracking a joke about his humility so I disregarded it as a joke. It was like he was poking fun at his own ego. Besides somebody else wrote his jokes. He was just reading them.

No matter what he says or how loudly he says it, his voice is almost devoid of change of tone, tenor, inflection or pitch.
Quite monotonous, in the literal sense of the word.
It sounds very unnatural, especially to me, a “hillbilly”, who is used to speaking and hearing the “lilting, musical” speech of my fellow ‘billies.
Almost robotic and inhuman...yet compelling.
I much prefer Wallace’s exhortations to the Scots....:)
I think maybe after 4 years of GWB, whom I really like but is NOT a leader, the people are so hungry for leadership. Thats why they are so willing to fall for Obamas rhetoric. He comes off as someone who says I am going to fix your life and make it perfect. He comes off as a leader. Unfortunatly like it always is, by the time they find out he is a liar, it may be too late. Lets just hope there is a country left for the good strong guys to come in and rescue.

Also for the record, I do not begrudge anyone the rigth to seduce women. That’s the way nature planned it. My problem is that pick-up artists are just nerds who are good at being popular instead of math and Star Trek trivia.
For all their insight into the female mind, PUAs probably only become masters because they’re out there every night practicing. If they had talked to women in high school (or, better yet, elementary school), they wouldn’t need to formulate elaborate systems.

You'd need to do an NLP analysis of all great political speakers, though, to convince me that it's on purpose. It may be that "they all do it", that it's a talent which particular persons who have it turn to various ends.
