"Vetting" the Media (edited for language)
Ace of Spades ^ | Ace

Posted on 10/17/2008 5:42:06 PM PDT by mnehring

A lot of people want to know why we shouldn't begin "vetting" the media -- and by "vetting," I do in fact mean vetting. I mean starting a fund to put ***** detectives on them and begin outing them, one by one:

In the closet.

Hits his wife.

******.

Stoned out of his mind on coke half the time.

Etc.

And to reduce costs, I'm sure some budding citizen journalists-detectives would be wiling to take a night a week following these bastards around, taking pictures.

The media's position that Joe the Plumber who merely asked a question must be "vetted" out of existence certainly supports the full-blown "vetting" of them.

After all, far more turns on the questions they ask and... refuse to ask, more importantly.

Will we do this?

I've had angry phases where I was within inches of proposing just this. Even starting a corporation with limited liability protections to do so.

It may be time.

But not now. There are only two weeks left. The media isn't changing. They are in the tank for Obama; this is the full-court press. If we "got" one or two of these bastards by election day, what effect? None.

However, I have been loathe to even post such a notion in the past. It's too ugly, too vicious.

Not anymore.

It is their own "rule" -- those who ask questions that harm one's preferred candidate must be hounded and harassed and humiliated until they are silenced.

If this is the rule they impose on everyday citizens, it's time for everyday citizens to impose it on them.

Yes, this is where we're headed. And while I used to greet the prospect with disgust, now I'm comfortable with it.

It is their own "rule."

They will have to live by it, same as all of us.

Joe the Plumber was the last straw.

He was the last "freebie."

The theme has been that if someone becomes a public figure then we as American people have a right to know their background. I can’t think of any people more “public” than the media themselves.

What’s good for the goose......

Well, think about it...they hobnob with the very politicians they’re supposed to be “covering”...

They’ve become “stars” right along with the REAL stars.

People wanted Carl Cameron’s autograph at the Sarah Palin rally a while back.

Why not???

You should have just heard Christopher Hitchens look down his nose at Palin on BORe. He thinks she was a mistake because she comes across as a ‘rube’ and doesn’t have the air of Washington society.

If Obamma and crew move into the Whitehouse the Bill of Rights is going to become a token document.

I have been just seething about this. I am about to send out an e-mail to my list that has no clue of my political affiliations about how sad I am that I can no longer support Obama, and this unconscionable treatment of Joe the Plumber is one of the reasons why. I am also going to list ALL the other reasons.

It is going to be a doozy!

I also just said this exact thing to my mother over the phone just a few hours ago. I said we should go after them with ALL barrels--nothing is off limits! Trying to take down and ruin a citizen--not for asking a question, but BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIKE THE ANSWER-- is the absolute bottom of the barrel, and the very final straw.

Joe the Plumber is akin to the Boston Tea Party, except this time, Obambi and the media have thrown the average guy under the bus.

What really pissed me off was Obambi today, in a condescending tone, saying “...McCain wants to fight for a plumber..” as if there was something wrong with that... Joe the Plumber is Joe Everyman. He represents the 99% of America that isn’t a snobbish DC insider.

When they throw Joe overboard, they threw us all overboard.

..not for asking a question, but BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIKE THE ANSWER..

Worth repeating. Obama steps in it, so they attack the person that asked the question..

Amen.

One easy thing to do to send these jerks to the soup line: don't buy advertised products. Buy generics, store brands, or brands that just don't pay advertising bucks to anyone. The media's pandering to the left is what they are inclined to do, but what they are paid to do is to put the sheeple in front of advertisements for under arm deodorant, toliet paper, dish soap, etc. Don't bother keeping up who to boycott, boycott them all.

Keith Olberman eats poop.

Chris Matthews likes little boys.

Charles Gibson tells really boring anecdotes.

Tim Russert isn’t really dead...but he does like to have sex with dead bodies.

(Before you get offended, remember it’s not libel if they’re public figures.)

More importantly, watch their shows, carefully note each and every commercial and product advertised.

Then write each and every sponsor, telling them that you will NOT buy their product so long as they advertise on journalist “x”’s show.

This is sometimes referred to as the Terry Rakolta method. It works, but requires significant effort in prep and execution if done solo. Done as a TEAM, however. . . (evil grin)

Taking a page from “Political Human Sacrifice”:

1) send a letter to 100 members of the low-level media (reporters who write average hit pieces), strongly alluding to investigation if they don’t shape up or find another profession
2) those who fall in line, put in category “COMPLIANT”
3) from those who DON’T fall in line, or don’t answer our request, we put in category “ENDANGERED”.
4) pick one “ENDANGERED” at random, and DRILL DRILL DRILL, until we know ... everything
5) publish everything about this round’s vet everywhere we can, and put this individual in the category “TOAST”
6) specifically send the results of the investigation to everyone else in “ENDANGERED”, and tell them it’s only a matter of time until we get around to them
7) those “ENDANGERED” that fall into line, we move to “COMPLIANT”
8) those compliant that lie to us, we put in a new category called “DOUBLE-CROSSERS”. I don’t know what else to do with them yet.

I agree. Let’s wait until after the election.

KEITH GETS LOW RATINGS IN BED

October 9, 2006 — A BROWN-haired beauty who claims she had an unsatisfying one-night stand with Keith Olbermann is getting her sweet revenge - she’s launched a blog to warn other women about the acerbic MSNBC commentator’s boorish bedroom habits.

The bitter babe, who calls herself KarmaBites1, says she doesn’t want others “to fall into the same trap . . . and I want him to feel some remorse for what he’s done . . . He sets his mind on a woman, lures her in, and once he gets what he wants, he refuses to ever speak to them again. And I don’t think he understands the damage he’s caused.”

A 30-something office worker of Caribbean descent, KarmaBites1 said she struck up an e-mail friendship with Olbermann, whom she admired, and agreed to fly to New York to meet him last May. She says he came to her hotel room and opened a bottle of Merlot which he “spilled all over.” Then, when “sexual activity began [in] less than an hour,” Olbermann had difficulty. “I pretended he knew what he was doing,” the embittered blogger writes. “I adored the guy. I didn’t want him to think he was a dud in bed,” so she faked experiencing ecstasy.

Next, he piled on excuses as to why he had to leave. “He told me he’s an insomniac and that it’s hard for him not to sleep in his own bed. He also mentioned he hadn’t had ‘company’ in a while. [He said] he had an early meeting with the Yankees [and] he might be allergic to the pillows in the hotel bed.”

Six days later, she claims, Olbermann e-mailed her to tell her never to contact him again. “I practically begged him to explain what I did wrong. I told him I deserved some kind of explanation for such a dismissal, but I never heard from him again.” She said she’s since heard from six other women who say they had brief sexual relationships with Olbermann.

She named her blog forthisreliefmuchthanks.blogspot.com, after a line from “Hamlet” she says the perennial bachelor quoted.

Olbermann’s spokeswoman said she’d get back to us, but didn’t.

I agree. Let’s wait until after the election.

I think waiting is a good idea. But let's not let this concept drop. We could raise a few bucks and concentrate on just one individual at first.
