I just posted it.
IF Obama is not eligible, then John is not, what with Johns’ being born in the Canal Zone and all.....
Well, DUDE! John McCain’s parents were both US citizens AND his father was serving with the US military overseas. He is, BY LAW, considered a natural born citizen.
Go back to the underside of that rock you inhabit on DU!!
From what I understand McCain has a Certificate of Live Birth Abroad which is a birth certificate issued by the U.S. Department of State that verifies the citizenship status of a child born to American parents outside of the U.S.
Actually, there is more to the law as it relates to how long the parent had lived in the US after a certain age (I believe 16) which is a point they have brought up on most of these threads.
As for McCain... the Canal Zone was part of the US at the time. Kenya has never been part of the US.
Of course I am awful sick of these “We found a guy with proof” threads but nobody ever actually provides us with the proof.
Hey then!! We have a race between Biden/Palin !!
Great BIG SMILE HERE!!!!
After reading this post, I regret wasting my time sending you my previous post.
Sorry, but the law in effect at the time very clearly states that children born in the Canal Zone to parents who were there on US Government business were natural-born American citizens.
“IF Obama is not eligible, then John is not, what with Johns being born in the Canal Zone and all”
John McCain was born to 2 US citizen parents, which makes a big difference.
Under the law in effect in 1961, Barack Obama was not a US citizen at birth because his US citizen mother had not lived in the US for 5 years after the age of 14 ( she was 18 years old ). It’s all cited in the article. Do you disagree with the statutory citation for some reason?
Suits me...Biden vs. Palin!
