I'm forwarding this for the sake of our country and land...
Calling all Christians to prayer at least ONE MINUTE NIGHTLY:
With God all things are possible:
Do you believe we can take God at His word, call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders unfold? This scripture gives Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do that.
II Chronicles 7:14: 'If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'
During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill, who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute, to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. This had an amazing effect, as bombing stopped.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America.
The United States of America, and our citizens, need prayer more than ever!!! If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you're doing, and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.
Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank you.
Please pass this on.
Dear God,
I pray people will come to heart and pray on this issue.
Let them vote accordingly.
Matthew 21:22 Jesus said, “You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.
We pray Lord, that the scales may fall from the eyes of every likely/registered voter in our land. We repent of our rebellious stubborn ways, and we thank you for your mercy and grace.
“Us” as in Christians. I as a Christian adhere to the Word Of God meaning scripture. It is not about any certain country or candidate it is about our relationship with Father God through Jesus Christ.
I am praying HARD for my country and will not give in to cynicism or defeatism. Our country CAN be great again if we will turn from our immoral ways. Whether that ever happens or not I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY in faith that it will and do what I can to see it to fruition.
Well said!
I am not blaming God at all . It is us - the people of the USA I am blaming . And I am not mocking anyone . It would appear that a majority of Americans want Obama . No amount of praying is going to change that . God is all-knowing , right ? So he already knows the outcome of the election .
Thank you, FL and LR.
And if I happened to ping people who are not Christian, I trust them, that they will appreciate the sentiments we share, of appealing to the greatest good in a very sobering time.
Thanks for the ping!
I am really interested in the pings from Lucyt as it relates to Obama information, not so much all of yours. Please remove me from your list.
Prayer changes more than you or I could ever imagine. Yes, God is all knowing, and He does know who is going to win this election. However, you don’t, and rather than being so negative and presumptive of the outcome, maybe you could try having a little faith in His word. Pray that their hearts and minds be changed. Pray that the scales fall off of their eyes and they see him for what he really is. Pray that they have an ear to hear the truth with. Pray that they receive revelation. Pray that what has been done in the cloak of darkness be revealed in the light. Pray for mercy upon us and this land. These are all sound scriptural requests. Speak His word in prayer over this election situation. Doing nothing guarantees defeat. If it is to be that Obama wins this election, at least I know I will have done all I can do, and I will have to accept it, and I will still praise God for who He is and not just what He can do. I can’t blame anyone without first looking long and hard at my own shortcomings and doing something about them first.
Thank you. There aren't coincidences or accidents. Ronald Reagan had something to say in 2004.He was a great communicator, and would be the first to admit he was just the messenger.
If we listen, we will hear.
Louis Grizzard's preacher had the sheriff with the car, the Red Cross with the boat, and the National Guard with the chopper.
We're being resupplied.
We are advancing. . . .
I am joining in the nightly prayer. Prayer is the best defense we have to what our nation is up against this election.
I am also praying that if it is in His will to have Obama as our next President that I can accept and understand that it is His will and must happen. I am so scared of that happening but it is comforting to know that He is in control.
Thank you for posting. It is a good reminder to us all.
9 PM each night for 1 minute prayer PING
thank you for the ping
Heck, I can pray for more than a minute. Count me in!!!
Not necessarily so - scripture is full of examples of where when God’s people followed II Chron. 7:14, events of a judgment nature were halted, delayed or postponed. We may deserve Obama, but in this election, I truly believe prayer is more important than voting. God alone can bring into the light that which changes minds, or bring events - such as the ‘perfect storm’ that has brought our financial collapse and Obama’s new poll strength. All that can be reversed in a day by sovereign, divine intervention. We need to pray for mercy - and a sovereign move from Above. Else we are a Marxist state in 3 - 4 years - and possibly totally disolved as a nation soon thereafter. The stakes are simply - everything on earth. Eternal salvation alone being through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
What a GREAT BIG BLESSING to get so many replies to this post from you who are praying. It was encouraging reading the scriptures and the encouraging words. Thank you.
“God does nothing on earth except in answer to believing prayer.”—John Wesley.
Many of the members of my church are participating in the Praying4America.com national prayer movement in obedience with 2 Chronicles 2:14. Every day we pray for the Christians and churches (including members, pastors, priests, rabbis, etc) in two states. We also on different days pray for our political leaders on the local, state and federal levels. We also pray for police, sheriff, and state police personnel, and we pray for the judges at all levels of the judicial system. By election day, we will have covered all 50 states.
May we turn our faces to God and may He have mercy upon us and heal our land.
