What sets these people off is simple: optimism. They hated Bush for it. They hate Palin for it. They would have hated Reagan for it had they been out of diapers at the time. A message like “America is great and together we can do anything.” gives a lie to their pathetic excuses for not accomplishing anything. How dare these Conservatives say you can do anything if you put your mind to it in this country? How dare they imply that my unhappiness is my own fault? How dare they imply I just need to work harder? That, I believe, is at the root of the BDS or PDS. They cannot justify their own emo selves in the face of optimism and achievement.
You know they had to be going moon-bat crazy when Gov. Palin said, "It's not the American people's fault that the economy is hurting like it is, but we have an opportunity to learn a heck of a lot of good lessons through this and say never again will we be taken advantage of," because it belies the notion they and the other 0bama-minions are trying to push, the *you need government to take care of you* mantra. I swear, it is stunning, to have the party of JFK saying *Ask not what you can do for your country, but demand what your country is going to give to you.*
You're right. My liberal sister-in-law's nickname is "Eeyore" because she rarely says anything positive.
