Make no mistake; this was a drubbing. This was a Hillary vs. Lazio drubbing. This was a “Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy” drubbing. This was “I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent’s youth and inexperience,” and the opponent can only stand there and laugh along.

Why do you think this is a vanity?
In just the last week I have seen DOZENS of posts, including some from AdminModerators decrying “vanity” posts.
Is there some kind of “crack-down” going on?
What exactly is wrong with “vanity” posts?
Is this outcry simply because people are posting them in the wrong part of the site, or is FreeRepublic REALLY trying to stop people from posting their thoughts and opinions?
The number of vanities has increased dramatically lately. It is getting to be rather tiresome - especially since many are not based on very sound logic.
Has elevated ones self to vanity monitor BFD.
Vanity? Wrong.
A vanity is a one or two sentence opinion which has no theme, no rhyme or reason, no conclusion.
BucksRight is a well-reasoned, well-written website with excellent articles and information about the campaign.
So are the Admin Moderators, as well as being the George Bush insult police, now also going to be the arbiters of what constitutes sound logic?
If someone puts forth an illogical argument it is usually a very simple exercise for one to point out the fallacies and/or flaws in that person’s logic. It often leads to very entertaining debates (which I THOUGHT was the purpose of this site).
And, of course, there is NO shortage of “conservataive” folks here who seem to just LIVE to lie in wait for some person to make a small factual error in one of their posts so they can immediately and self-righteously leap down that person’s throat with all the arrogance and condescension of the most vile liberal on the planet. This behavior, too, can be quite fun to witness - especially when the “leaper” turns out to be MORE ignorant on the subject at hand than the “leapee”.
Surely you do not wish to deprive us of some of the best entertainment on FR, do you?
actually, I’ve been rather entertained the last couple of days with Impeachedrapist’s satire of all the hyperbolic vanities...
btw, he likes 2% milk with his banquet microwaveandeat dinner...
The problem is that people take up an entire thread to jot some opinion down when alot of it could be posted on an appropriate thread.
If everyone posted a vanity for every thought they had, no one could get to the news articles for all the self important thoughts people felt the need to post and we have to wade through.

Hopefully, Dick set a new standard for dealing with Butthead Colmes.
Whenever Colmes tries to interupt a guest, who dares to disagree the DNC and most of the MSM, that guest should aim the 12 inch battleship guns at Butthead Colmes and take him out like Dick did.
I agree. These cowards need to be stopped in midsentence. These lying pukes need to be pounded into oblivion. I really enjoyed watching O’Reilly eviscerate the lying, elitist SOB Barney Frank. I never thought I would see the day a media person would rip to shreds a punk-ass congressman. I don’t know how many times I have yelled at my t.v., or would like to grab them by the neck and pull them through my t.v. to pummel them myself.
