I understand Sharratt's hesitation to answer this, but I wish he had been the one to initiate the comment that there were no "murders that day" and that he'd gone on to say, "except for our team member who was murdered by insurgents hiding in those houses" or something to that effect.
Maybe you're nodding to what I just said...but...
My comments give some idea how easy it is to second-guess someone else's actions.
Sharratt did very well in this interview.
KELLY: And thank you for your service.
Agreed, Justin did well. He’s fairly taciturn under normal circumstances. And I bet he’s been advised to say nothing about the incident at all. He’s out of the Corps, but could be subpeoned or recalled—even out of spite. There’s a fair amount of that going around.
zins,
Justin as been asked to not comment on the events of Haditha. Your thoughts about stating “there were no murders” and bring attention to the Defend Our Marines website are noted. I’m sure Justin will use them in any upcoming interviews. Noah Geary has allowed Justin to be himself, no scripts, just Justin——but the points you make should be used in future interviews. Thank you for supporting my son and all our military.
God Bless Our Haditha Marines
