I have known Richard through the e-mail/newsletters of his couisn, Joan Page Spann Keech for 10 or so years now. joan has tirelessly worked to keep Richard’s writings before the public, and that Richard’s being in prison for murder, a case that most think he should have been found innocent of the charges against him, considering the situation and circumstances of the case.
Richard is a pre-WW II Marine having served in China before the war, a member of the famous 4th Marine Regiment, taken prisoner on Corregidor, and served the duration of WW II as a POW of the Japanese.
After the war, Richard returned home, graduated college, raised a family, and became nothing but a productive citizen of America.
