Awaiting with great anticipation. I’ll take a wild guess: The credits are earned for phantom oil or gas extraction enterprises that are “canceled” to earn the credits, the credits are authenticated and deemed “high quality” by Enron’s old SO2 partners Environmental Defense Fund, they are put up on the CCX, acquired by Goldman Sachs, bundled and securitized, then, when the carbon bubble eventually collapses, as it must, McCain/Obama will compel the Fed to back them. Or something like that.

I had not been hip to it enough to call the exchange by its acronym, :), but will for now on. I’ve been moderately reading about world exchanges, one big center is London, with which the UK govt. is very involved, that and the lucre of “green” taxes explaining the UK’s phobic overreaction to any suggestion that man-made CO2 global warming should be questioned, or horrors! it does occur but the effect is infinitesimal. I knew Obama and McCain are both in the Wall Street traders’ pockets, but don’t know if Obama has a special connection to the CCX. Here’s a generic article.

BTW, Cap and Trade had always had top billing on his website’s energy page. Gone about a few weeks ago. Maybe what’s there now comports with whatever bill Pelosi was talking about today. Another possibility is anger from global warming believers. Although I think they are taken with some madness, quite a few know anyway that cap and trade is a do nothing scam that just moves money around and does nothing to lessen CO2. You can see their posts on the believers’ sites. I suspect Al Gore has tempered his out loud talk about Cap and Trade for the same reason.
