NY Times Shows How Palin Will Clean Up Washington
The Virginian ^ | 9/14/2008 | Moneyrunner

A commenter (BigA) on the Right Coast says

Now I understand why the NYT lobbied so hard to raise the minimum wage for unskilled, entry-level jobs like bagging groceries and mopping kitchen floors at McDonalds.

It's a golden parachute for their editorial staff. (Rimshot)

That's clever.

But seriously folks, the NY Times and all the other MSM organs that are desperately trying to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin are coming up with things that shock and surprise no-one except those who believe that Palin is the Messiah. After the Obama debacle no one on this side of the aisle is making that mistake.

...

Read the Times story carefully and you will find that many of the complaints come from people who had jobs in government before Sarah Palin came in to clean up and that don’t have those jobs now. Do you really expect to get bouquets thrown your way when you fire someone? But tell me how you change policy and clean up a corrupt culture without changing people.

The entire thrust of the story that the Times uses as an indictment tells me that if Sarah Palin gets elected as part of the McCain-Palin ticket, there will be real reform in Washington, DC.

Before I read the Times story I wondered how Palin would approach the problem of changing Washington. Now I know.

There is no greater truth than the old saying: “personnel is policy.” It looks like Sarah Palin understands that and (as Martha Stewart is fond of saying) "that’s a good thing."

Indeed.

Today is Day 17 of The Palin Era. The lawyers, investigators, reporters and lefty bloggers have now had almost three weeks to find the dirt on Sarah Palin. The fact that they have failed to do so would lead any intelligent person to conclude that it is time to end the search. That won't happen of course but it is near certain that the Leftwing Blogosphere will focus on Troopergate as the path to bring down Sarah and the McCain campaign. And this while their Messiah is trying to get the country to focus on "issues". Good luck Daily Kos and the MSM, you are going to need it. As for me, I've ordered extra beer and popcorn for the evening of November 4th when I will have my Tivo tuned to CNN and MSNBC.

In this vein, MSN has a (laughable) article written in breathless “I-just-can’t-believe-this-is-true” style indicating that, as Mayor of Wasilla, Gov. Palin got rid of 53 people and saved the city $6 million.

Sounds pretty responsible to me.

But, of course, the left is up in arms that she limited the size of the city government. About mid-way through the article, the reporter accidentally let slip that the fact was that Palin ran a “light government”, not the huge, bloated, do-nothing, get-in-your-business government that lefties love.

And, that’s their issue with her. They’re terrified that if she and McCain are elected, a lot of their “anonymous sources” for dirt will be looking for new jobs.

Perhaps a dinosaur like the NYT can hire them!!

I’m waiting on the residents of Wasilla to get fed up with the digging and start slamming doors in the faces of reporters.

Find out how fast they are called ignorant rednecks. Oh wait, that already happened. Well, they’ll be really mad about it anyway.

I actually think there is no harm in this kind of “analysis” from leftie paper-blogs like the NYT. As snarky as they are, they always are forced to say something nice about here, you know, to represent the 80% of people in Alaska who approve of Gov. Palin. So as long as they spell her name right, let them continue to devote column-inches and valuable airtime to the story of Sarah Palin.

It’s not like any of her supporters are going to become un-sold, and the independents who have fair and open minds will see right thru this garbage.
