This day, Merciful Father, many young men and women will go forth to serve their country, in places known and unknown. May the Heavenly Host go with each one, to protect and to guide. Grant wisdom, that they would evade the snare of the enemy ... turn aside every assault. Daily diminish the power of those who seek their harm, unto the time when victory is won.

Even as America's sons and daughters bring peace and stability, may they also bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Turn the hearts of the enemy into hearts made ready to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ. Even in the midst of war, may the Prince of Peace reign.

Grant, O God, the desire of the hearts of Todd and Sarah Palin, that their beloved son would escape injury or harm. Return him safely to the land and the home he loves, and to the family who awaits.

And may it be so, Merciful Father, for each who leave this day in service to our beloved country. Grant them safe passage, victorious service, and joyous return.
