Very careful. The links say the PUMAs started posting this stuff Tuesday. That is a long time for the story to not go forward -- if there is anything to it.
I don't know much about Plouffe, but I have to assume he knows that ISPs can be traced. Even if he was behind these smears (and I'm not saying he was), surely he would be smart enough cover his tracks. You don't pull a stunt like this from the computer sitting on your office desk, not if you are managing a national campaign.
You use a cut out, and have them post it while accessing the internet through a hotel wifi, at a hotel they have never checked into.
There is either nothing to this story, or Plouffe is so incredibly stupid I dont' want BO to fire him.
