I am going to have to see the video of the speech again, or at least read the transcript, because there was a truly transcendent part of it where he described the long, transforming process of his incarceration, that was so marvelously moving, and yes, transcendent, that it brought me to tears, and I believe by the end of it,it brought him near tears as well. I don’t think I ever understood this man until I heard that, and watched him tell it, with complete sincerity and sober matter-of-factness. He’s got my vote unreservedly.
