According to Wiki, her youngest child was a senior in High School when she was bequeathed decided to run for public office (1987).

However, she was elected Democrat Party Chairwoman for Northern California in 1977. One would have to presume that she spent a lot of time working on politics to get elected to that position.

I believe that Alexandria is the youngest child of the Pelosi’s and she is in her late 30’s, she would have been in her late teens when Nancy Pelosi was elected to office in 1988.

The Nance could afford a lot more help than the average person, and so can Sarah, who seems to have all the help she needs with the two little ones. Most of her BABIES look pretty much like they’re fairly near grown anyway.

Okay, so I did MSM-level research on Pelosi before I posted that. At least I'll admit to being "guilty as charged".

Okay, let's dig deeper.

She's been in Congress since 1987. And that was when her youngest child graduated from high school, according to Wikipedia.

So we can assume a birth date of 1970 for this kid, unless he or she repeated a few grades (we won't, I'm just being facetious.)

However, that disingenuously implies that she was a stay-at-home mom up until that point.

But at usliberals.about.com, it indicates that

Nancy Pelosi was a stay-at-home mother of five, albeit with deep family political connections, whose first political foray was stuffing envelopes in 1976 for California Governor Jerry Brown's run for the presidency. She became chair of the Northern California Democratic Party in 1977, and California Democratic Party chair in 1981. For most of the 1980s, she worked in public relations and political consulting, until, at age 47 in 1987, she successfully ran for elected office.

Several points about this.

First, you don't go from "stuffing envelopes" to the chair of the Northern California Democratic Party in one year.

There are way too many activist Democrats (read: competition for the job) for somebody to rise that quickly in the Party apparatus.

Second, if she's from a "family with deep political connections", well, chances are, if you come from one of those, you probably start getting involved in things political not too long after you learn to not wet yourself.

I suspect she started earlier than 1976. But let's let that pass and assume that the date is valid.

In 1976, her youngest kid would have been five or six years old. Small enough to fall into the "Palin brood" category.

With others ranging older, perhaps through high school.

Just like Palin's kids.

The underlying point remains, and I really just used Pelosi because the kid count is the same.

And the under-underlying point is that nobody asks a *man* this question.
