From a post in the Blogs for John McCain Forum by BFJM member Amy:
Several weeks ago, I posted that I suspected Bill O'Reilly was in the tank for Obama. After his show last night and his plans to stomp all over McCain's acceptance speech Thursday with an "exclusive" interview with Obama, I'm now convinced. I sent him the following e-mail and plan on copying this e-mail on every blog and political page that will accept it. I am beyond disgusted with the media in general and am deeply, deeply disappointed in people I used to admire. Fox News has gone to the dark side (did any of you see even Shepard Smith, in the middle of a hurricane, delightedly crow about Bristol's pregnancy? I used to think HE was a nice young man.), so I'm not sure where the heck this news junkie is going to get her news (suggestions anyone?). It's an ugly world and it's getting uglier.
My letter to Bill O'Reilly:
Sir:
Im one of the millions who watch your show nightly. Last night, I switched to C-Span and after your decision to join the Obama team in preempting John McCains acceptance speech on Thursday, I will no longer be an OReilly viewer.
Yesterday, I heard your advertisements for the September 2nd show wherein you promised a show dedicated to the degradation of Sarah Palin and her 17 year old daughter. Turning you off may be as quixotic as Don Quixote defending Dulcinea, but to quote your chosen candidate, Enough! Remember the vile video where a group of teenage girls beat the hell out of one girl? That sickened me as much as anything Ive ever watched on TV, and your jumping into the feeding frenzy against this young woman and the Governor of Alaska affects me in the same visceral way.
I now see that you are planning to stomp all over John McCains night by showcasing Barrack Obama. Tell me. Did you ask John McCain for an exclusive interview on Obamas big night? Either you didnt give McCain the same forum or if you did, McCain demonstrated his own sense of fairness by refusing. I'd say your scheduling is the very definition of "spin". I would, of course, not expect Mr. Obama to show the same sort of grace McCain showed, but I expected better from you. I assume that is the reason Obama accepted your long-standing invitation for an interview on this night of all nights. Chris Mathews must be proud.
I didnt always agree with you, but I respected you. Not any more. There is no decency in attacking a 17 year old girl for either ratings or politics; and there is no fairness in giving Obama a stage to attack McCain on the night of his accepting his partys nomination. McCain gave up the first night of his convention to do the right thing, and you are going to do everything you can to insure that his message is not heard or seriously diluted on the last night of the convention.
Can we assume that your 13-part series on Barrack Obamas background has been cancelled?
Very sincerely indeed,

BOR cares about only one thing-BOR!
good point - but I don't think he is in the tank for Obama
Is’nt the interview before Mccains speech?
I think the interview is Thurs. night
Fox is actulaly pre-empting McCain’s speech for the BOR-Obama interview? Forget him. In fact, I found myself watching CSPAN most of last night as well.
This is why he made such a tepid effort to go after the Palin smears.
It was not difficult to sense this, even weeks back, when after ever time BO said Palin’s name, he said INEXPERIENCE. After about the third or fourth time of this, I was so mad, I sent emails to Fox managmenet, to BO, and to other Fox personalities I respect.
I am done with BO and Fox management knows it. I hope millions of others are equally upset about this kind of deception and abuse.
I bet he reads some of your letter on air and calls you a kool aid drinker.
Don’t forget that above all else , the world B O’R comes from is slightly upscale tabloid news of the INSIDE EDITION variety. Just barely upscale. If he has an Obama interview scheduled though, it may be the ONLY date that Team Obama would accept, as THEIR way to pre-empt McCain’s speech. It may not have been B O’R’s choice. Team Obama may be gloating at this mini-coup, and see it as a way of getting even for McC’s announcement of Palin as his pick but a few hours after Obama’s big speech, thus monopolizing what everyone would be talking about-— Palin instead of Obama.
Careful or BOR might refer to this post on “right wing hate site”
Yes, the interview will be before the McCain speech. Fox News is NOT pre-empting McCain’s speech. The point Amy is making is that Fox News is allowing Obama to “obscure” McCain’s speech by giving him a forum just before McCain’s speech to “step on” McCain’s big night. Nothing of the kind was done to Obama on the night of his acceptance speech.
When we got FoxNews on our cable, I loved O’Reilly....for about 3 months.
That was back in late 2000.
Haven’t watched the over-rated hypocrite since so *me* boycotting him won’t mean very much....:))
BOR is a big government liberal blowhard.
I stopped watching him about 6 years ago.
I hope you are right. It will depend of whether O’Reilly asks the hard questions, or just serves up softballs in gratitude for getting the big interview.
As if it was some lofty personal accomplishment. A politician talking to the media shouldn't be a "breaking news" story, Bill.
BOR is as eager to lick BHO's boots as the rest of the MSM.
Maybe Bill will get Obama in the studio and make him watch the McCain speech on live TV?
BOR just wants ratings and attention - that fills his wallet and ego.
