It is cheaper to shoot a moose for meat in Alaska than it is to buy beef at the local store.
Who cares if it is cheaper? You can’t buy lean moose meat in the local store so it is apples and oranges. However, if it is done correctly, it is cheaper than buying the equivelant amount of beef. When people ask that question, usually they are anti hunters who spew the tired phrase, “We don’t need to hunt anymore, we can just buy the meat in the store”. Well, no you can’t. You can’t buy Venison at your local store and beef is way less lean and less healthy than any big-game meat.
Oops, wrong person.
