The Real Difference Between Gustav and Katrina
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 9/02/08 | Purple Mountains

Katrina was the biggest natural disaster that ever hit the United States. Noone anticipated or was prepared for such damage. Besides being a smaller hurricane that did not hit New Orleans directly, Gustav was managed by a competent Republican governor who heeded the warnings and took appropriate measures to protect the city and its people.

Those whose vision are not clouded by the need to "get" President Bush will remember that the incompetent mayor of the city, Ray Nagin, ignored the warnings of the Bush Administration to evacuate the city. Who can forget the pictures of the hundreds of empty school buses standing in water as people died? Who can forget the deer-eyed look of the incompetent Governor Blanco while she dithered as President Bush pleaded with her to activate the National Guard?

As I understand it, Bobby Jindall threatened to have Nagin arrested if he didn’t order the evacuation.

“Katrina was the biggest natural disaster that ever hit the United States”

I know it’s not the point, but....says who?

The liberals laughed and said the god gia was going to get even or something with the storm and prove the liberals right. So along with that line of thinking then gia was mad at the gays for having their convention in NOLA and flooded them out. Then the gays rescheduled to get blown out by another hurricane in Florida.

There was a huge earthquake in about 1811-12 that recharted the Mississippi.

I'm pretty sure measures have been taken and laws have been changed in regards to federal and state governments responsibilities during national emergencies now. In the past Admiral Nagin got away with ducking responsibility...not so now.

Ray Nagin has more executive experience and more qualifications to be president than Barack Obama! Now think what will happen to this country if ZERObama gets elected!

Think Nagin is bad? You haven’t seen anything yet if the ‘community organizer’ gets in the White House!

The irony is that Louisiana is not just New Orleans. Baton Rouge, Thibodeaux, Houma, Alexandria — were all hard hit, and not one word on national news. Why? There was no racial angle to play. Just people living through the hottest part of our year in the dark, no electricity, some with no water supply, most with no generators or way to cool off and many with major house and roof damage, trees down in their yards, floodings, etc... Yep - not a thing to report.
