Just perhaps she believes that the rate of pay should be commensurate with the ability to produce.

I like this comment below the article:

Obama didn't even give Hillary a chance at the job to pay her less for it.

EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK? That socialist trope? Why doesn’t he just say that Governor Palin doesn’t support Trotsky?

It appears as though the “community organizer” has forgotten who he’s running against. Typical. Governor Palin is only the VP candidate.

Just perhaps she believes that the rate of pay should be commensurate with the ability to produce.

Or, just possibly, she thinks the person paying the wage and the person receiving the wage should get to work out a level of pay they can both accept. This is the kind of thing free people often do...

From the article...

The Obama campaign could not provide immediate proof Palin’s opposition to Equal Pay

I would imagine if it existed, they would have produced it. I don't expect Gov Palin to let this allegation go unchallenged.

This irks me mightily and I hope Palin comes firing back on it. How long has the federal government had an equal pay for equal work law?? Decades, isn’t it? If a man and a woman do the same job they are paid the same, period. What is the controversy? Any time the Dems say this they make it sound as if women are getting less pay for doing the same job. What a lie. If Obama’s grandmother was passed over for promotion it is because that was decades ago when equality was not fully realized. But just like with the race issue, the Dems rely on lies about sexism and gender gaps to keep victim status alive and well.

That doesn’t make much sense to me.

Neither does filling out hours of paperwork and financing a huge Federal bureaucracy to make sure that somebody, somewhere gets an extra dime.

I believe this equal pay for equal work has been shown to be a bogus issue more than once. Thirty or forty years ago, it might have had some basis, but I believe there have been several studies which show that for men and women with equal qualifications and experience, that pay is very comparable for those who entered the work force around the same time, in the decades since women became more common in most all professions.

Does Obama ever cite any data to support his throwing this old issue around in 2008?

Exactly. Not everybody thinks the gov’t should be involved in every decision made in America. Only socialists think that's the ultimate goal.

I'm guessing that there must be some post-Palin pick polling that the Obama people don't like.

Yes, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 has been the law of the land since that time. It’s illegal to pay women less for the same job as a man. The whole nebulous idea of “comparable worth” of different jobs that tend to be more one sex than the other is one where there are no laws that I know of.

Question for Obama, and Hillary too. If this whole equal pay for equal work issue is that big a deal, what did Bill Clinton do about this subject for eight years?

Equal pay for equal work. Is that even an issue? Has McCain actually spoken out against this? Or is it just something the Dems are pretending is an issue? Did he actually hear Palin say she doesn’t believe in it? Or is he making that assumption because she is a republican?

The Obama campaign could not provide immediate proof Palin’s opposition to Equal Pay - and instead only connected Palin to McCain’s opposition.

“Senator McCain has a clear record of opposing equal pay and as his running mate Governor Palin is tasked with promoting his agenda,” Obama spokesman Jen Psaki says.

That's like saying "Joe Biden is a Muslim terrorist".

This is not about paying men and women to same for doing the same job. It is about a Socialist government deciding that a teacher gets what a RN gets and so on. The .gov sets wages for a group of different jobs and says you must pay these people the same. It is totally stupid. But like all things liberal it is worded in a way that people do not get the TRUTH.

Typical liberal, he is choosing out someone more suited to his testosterone level.
