So how much is the Obama campaign paying you? Is it by the word, or by the insipid paragraph? If the former, you ought to be cleaning up.

Ma'am why is it whenever a real conservative refuses to support a Trojan Elephant who'll usher in socialism 80% as fast as his democrat opponent, you GOP Kool-Aid drinkers accuse him of being a plant?

Could it be because you can't answer the charge that McCain is only slightly less left than Teddy Kennedy?

After having seen the disaster to conservatism and the country wrought by faux-conservative GW Bush, I'm amazed how quickly you GOP Kool-Aid drinkers are to throw your support witlessly behind another.

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

Oh, puhleeze!
What world do you live in? One where everyone should remain silent if in an attempt to prop up a scumbag like McCain, no matter how liberal his policies or actions? And when he starts in with his liberal policies as President, should we all just “shut up and take it” as to not weaken the new “leader” of the GOP and the nation? Sorry. Last I looked this is still a free country with free speech and FR is still a conservative forum, not a GOP forum for GOP thugs to silence Conservatives if they don’t get in line like good-little-sheep and kowtow to the every wish of the PTB.
If McCain can’t withstand a little criticism of his policies on an internet forum, how can you expect him to lead the nation?

To paraphrase our illustrious President who lost his way in his second term, back when he still had a pair:

"You're either with us, or you're with the enemies of America."

You've made your sentiments loud and clear and the Obama Campaign thanks you for it.

So you meet someone once in 1983 and that makes you an authority on whether they are capable of 'change' or not?

Sure.

Could it be because you can't answer the charge that McCain is only slightly less left than Teddy Kennedy?

The American Conservative Union gives a lifetime rating to McCain of 82.3 percent.

They gave Teddy Kennedy a lifetime rating of 3. That's THREE as in 1, 2, 3. (hope counting that high wasn't a challenge for you)

After having seen the disaster to conservatism and the country wrought by faux-conservative GW Bush, I'm amazed how quickly you GOP Kool-Aid drinkers are to throw your support witlessly behind another.

So what candidate are you voting for in order to keep Obama out of the White House, eh Sparky?

"Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it."

You read that somewhere and thought it sounded cool didn't you?

Obama has his police to ensure conformity. I guess that McCain does too.

As far as I am concerned, Palin is the only reason that I might consider voting for McCain too.

You could not be more correct!

Now we can't hold McCain's feet to the fire about his non-conservative positions on the issues like:

1. Embryonic Stem Cell Research
2. Support for the Global Warming Scam
3. Amnesty
4. His desire to implement a Carbon Cap-and-Trade system
5. His big-government (increasing the size of the government) approach to solving almost every problem he runs into.

Now, if you do that, you are voting for Obama don't you know.

mkjessup, in case you have forgotten, this is a conservative web-site fighting for conservative ideals, and only a GOP site, when the GOP has aligned itself to fight for the same ideals.

That leaves us free to speak our mind and be HONEST about issues and politicians and parties.

Try it, you'll like it.

“I am pleased with her, but I don’t think the American people will accept her. They will see her as “inexperienced” even though they don’t perceive Oprah’s Obama that way.”

Read the comments on the Hillary web sites. Almost 100% saying with the choice of Palin they were going to vote Republican for the first time in their lives. Bragging about sending money to the McCain campaign! Stating they were going to work in the campaigns! I was shocked.

I think McCain made the best possible choice. Conservatives are now energized and Palin will pull a big chunk of votes from the Obamination.

It demonstrates to those voters who are in the middle, that McCain will not be a business as usual Republican president

And what exactly is that supposed to mean?

Apparently you are unfamiliar with what FreeRepublic.com is all about.

Here is a refresher course brought to you by the sites' owner Jim Robinson.

In short, FreeRepublic is a conservative site, not a Republic site and most assuredly not a moderate site.

You appear to be lost, why don't you wander on down the internet to a moderate GOP site!

And I say to you as a conservative, mkjessup, you are either with us conservatives in holding John McCains and GOP elite's feet to the fire with respect to representing us conservatives, or you are against us and against the purpose of FreeRepublic.

Who said anything about NOT holding McCain's feet to the fire, eh SoConPubbie?

There will be plenty of time for that after the McCain/Palin ticket dispatches Comrade Obama back to being the junior Senator from Illinois. As for now, the focus needs to be on preventing a 'Rat victory on Nobvember 4th and that means supporting the GOP ticket, ALL of it.

(you don't think Vice President Palin is going to hold President McCain's 'feet to the fire'? If not, that reveals a lack of faith in our newly minted conservative standard bearer, doesn't it?)

Hey smart ass, I've been here since 2003, and you just dropped by last year. I was a conservative when Barry Goldwater was running for the White House, so don't pretend to lecture -me- on what it means to be conservative, got it?

First of all, the battle for conservatism should only increase between now and the election to make sure John McCain only has our support while he represents us, that we will not stand idly by and keep our mouth shut while he attempts to move the party to the left.

Secondly, you have no evidence to support the idea that either Palin will hold John McCain's feet to the fire or that John McCain is even tractable in that regard.

That is a total unsupportable by evidence set of assumptions on your part, there is not evidence in either John McCain's background that either assumption will come to pass, and quite the contrary, John McCain is the "Maverick" and has been bucking his party and conservatives for seven years now.

And I have seen nothing in your posting history that would lead me to believe that you are any kind of standard-bearer for holding John McCain's feet to the fire, quite the contrary, all you do is badger people who dare to mention his various short-comings with respect to conservatism and then falsely label them as supporters of Obama.

You are pathetic my friend!

Listen, go try that sophomoric attempt of one-upmanship with a 4th grader OK?

Argue the issues, not your supposed seniority, my friend!

You're a incompetent researcher, if you failed to find my posts on John McCain during the primary season, which were among the most toxic on FR. I was a Duncan Hunter supporter from the very beginning of the primaries. And Duncan Hunter will be supporting the McCain/Palin ticket, without reservations and without pre-conditions. As for 'pathetic', what is truly pathetic is you (and others of your ilk) who would prefer to backstab the only chance our Republic has for turning back the threat of Obama Marxism with your whining and nagging about McCain-this, and McCain-that. I don't like McCain's positions on many issues, but he's the only candidate out there that has a shot at stopping the 'Rats, and I'll support him because the alternative is far worse, and I'll not hide behind some fake conservative purist clap-trap that does nothing except undercut what SHOULD be every conservative's goal: stopping Obama and the leftists from seizing control of the Executive Branch. What part of that don't you understand?

I'm all for 'holding McCain's feet to the fire' (whatever-in-Hell that means in your little world), but all the sniping you jokers are doing accomplishes nothing but provide campaign fodder for the 'Rats campaign.

Wise up fool.

And you can drop that 'my friend' garbage, you're no friend of mine.

Make your choice, Obama or McCain, those are the options, so quit your damn whining. You didn't get the conservative candidate you wanted, neither did I. Now man up and pull the damn lever against Obama.

There is nothing manly is sacricing your ethics, and principles to support a candidate that will grant Amnesty, will try to pass a Carbon cap-and-Trade system, and will support Embryonic Stem-cell research.

Just try doing a little research on how the founders of this country felt about the sacred privilege of voting. A little hint for you, they felt there was no dishonor for refusing to vote for someone based on how they did not represent you or for voting for someone who could not win but represented your princples.

So why don't you man up, and stick to your self-declared conservative principles.
