The McCain-Palin discussions go back over a year ... in July 2007 my cousin in Juneau told me the McCain runners had spent ten days in and about Alaska vetting Governor Palin.

That's actually very good to hear. An ABC author wrote that McCain only decided about her early this week, as if it's decided in haste. It means McCain's campaign has already known her strengths and weaknesses, including any possible skeleton in the closet. The Dims are already running the ex brother-in-law, which when details come up seem to be dangerous for them to make it a campaign issue.

Is it possible that McCain and his advisers have pulled off the biggest trick ever in politics ? A long term strategery by swinging out all the way left in platform(to grab the broadest base)before knuckling back all the way right,to where they meant to be? Possible?
