At our Golden K breakfast meeting yesterday, our guest speaker was our state representative (R). He painted a bleak picture of Illinois state politics. The House speaker and Senate president (both Democrats) don’t talk to one another. Bills passed in one chamber aren’t even considered in the other. What they have done is increased proposed spending by over 2 billion with anticipated increase in income of around 250 million. State pensions are being robbed, as are state Medicare funds, in order to pay for programs they want.

He essentially said it’s up to us the voter. We have to unite and let the assembly know we won’t stand for it. As for Blagoyovich, he wants to run again but was given a 1% chance. He’s a non-starter even within his own party.

This is what America has in store should Obama become President. Emil Jones, Senate president, is his mentor. BTW, Jones is retiring and has named his son as successor.

There is no doubt, with multiple fed and state investigations pending, Blago will be indicted when he leaves office and perhaps sooner. I have sources at the Capital, since I’m in Springfield, that have told me that Madigan is ready to allow impeachment proceedings to begin, but has been warned by fellow Dem leaders not to allow anything to occur until after the November Election. I was told this more than a month before the reports surfaced that Madigan had ordered his attorneys to put together a recommendation of whether Blago could be impeached.
