Eight Is Enough (vanity)

My fellow Americans,

Watching the Democratic National Convention, it seems they would have you believe that America was a prosperous nation only 8 years ago, and the administration of George W. Bush has brought us to ruin in only 7 short years. On Sept. 11, 2001, United flight 93 was headed toward our nations capital. Most likely, its' target was the capitol building. But that flight never reached Washington D.C. because of the brave actions of some everyday Americans. Some of our Congressmen and Senators may very well owe their lives to the heroes of Flight 93. Do you think any one of the people standing on the stage at the democrat's convention, complaining about the presidency of George Bush would have the courage to do what the heroes of flight 93 did? I doubt it.

During the past 7 years, President Bush has confronted the threat of terrorism. Today, some may have forgotten how the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 hurt the economy of the United States. President Bush's tax relief program has been effective, but the democrats would like to end it. The economy has been on a steady path of recovery since 2003. The fact that there has not been another terrorist attack on the United States has certainly helped to assure this recovery. The democrats want you to believe that our military is being wasted, and they like to talk about bringing our soldiers home from Iraq, but they certainly don't want to talk about the numerous terrorist attacks that occurred under President Clinton's watch.

In 2006, the Democrats became the majority in congress. Have they kept the promises they made to the American people? Does anyone even remember what their "first 100 hours of business" were all about? Has the economy gotten better since democrats took control of congress? Does it show leadership when Nancy Pelosi turns out the lights in Congress for summer vacation, without having a roll call vote or taking time to debate about offshore drilling?

The democrats paint a picture of the average American as someone that is just barely getting by. They want us to believe that the future prosperity of America depends upon them. As a conservative, I am not willing to trust government programs and bureacracy for my future well being. If the passengers of United flight 93 were democrat members of congress, they would have started bickering about what to do, or tried to appease the terrorists, and the capitol building would have ended up being a smoking hole in the ground.

John McCain is not going to roll over like a dog and let the terrorists have their way. He doesn't make fancy speeches about how he is going to change Washington D.C. Anyone with a brain knows that Washington D.C. is only going to change when people vote out all the greedy, arrogant, self-absorbed, power-hungry politicians that only care about themselves. John McCain is not one of these politicians. John McCain has a record of political reform that can stand on its' own, whereas Mr. Obama, who has yet to complete his first term in the Senate, has no accomplishments to point to that demonstrate that he is an agent of change. John McCain has proven himself as a leader in war and a leader in peace. Mr. Obama has no corporate or executive leadership experience that he can claim, unless you want to count his experience as a "community organizer."

On September 11, 2001, did you mean it when you said "we will never forget"? When you say "I support our soldiers" - do you really mean it? On November 4th, are you going to trust your vote to a true American hero and proven leader like John McCain, or a wannabe like Barack Obama?

I would make a comment about Mr. Obama not being fit to shine John McCain's shoes, but some people might take that as a "racist" attack.

I saw quite a bit of the convention on delay time.

I saw no substance whatsoever. What I did see was a lot of trashing of Bush, Cheney and McCain, a lot of smoke and mirrors and way too much Hollywood-style glitz.

I heard a variety of Democrats telling us what is wrong and what they want to do to "fix" it but not once did I hear anyone say how they'd impement any of that tripe.

That bunch is all hat and no cattle.

Why care? The Obamaites turn anything negative said about their Messiah into a racial attack.
