So God has changed? What applied to those who suffered for the Gospel no longer applies?
I’m not sure I follow the formula you are espousing. How much and what kind of faith do I need to have to ensure that God gives me the life I want?
Look, I’m talking about Osteen’s messages for today, to encourage believers. He and his messages brought my son and his wife back to church. If you want to criticize him, fine. I won’t.
They died because it was in God’s plan for them to do so.
“Joel’s mother was healed of terminal cancer by speaking forth words of faith and not allowing anyone around her to speak negativity. It sure worked for her. I have her book. It’s full of healing scriptures.”
So tell me why they didn’t use the healing scriptures?
The prosperity gospel makes me sick. God is not your genie that will grant you wishes if you have the correct faith or positive attitude. He is sovereign. Neither you, nor Joel Osteen’s mother has the power to manipulate God into what you want through the use of Scripture as though they were magic spells.
Saying that people have used faith to get something that they wanted out of God and then saying that others died because it God’s will are contradictory statements.
You cannot manipulate God. It is arrogant and blasphemous to believe that you can.
THEY DID USE THE HEALING SCRIPTURES. That’s what the book is all about. They used God’s Word and not man’s.
The “healing scriptures” ? What are those? If I say them properly does that mean that God is obligated to heal me of any disease or condition?

There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of healing. Whatever she did, it worked for her. God isn’t obligated to anything but HIS WILL. If it was time for her to die, according to God’s timetable, she would have. But it wasn’t. I claim scriptures myself for healing. It’s God’s Word. I am at peace no matter which way God chooses.
