Chihuahua Cloud (Prepare to laugh)
Hollywood Elsewhere ^ | 08/20/2008 | Jeffrey Wells

...A major turning of the page -- an historic cultural turnover, a generational changing of the guard -- would happen with an Obama victory. I wish there was some way to analogize this without comparing Team Obama -- a fairly unradical bunch with moderately progressive ideas and intentions -- to 20th Century communists, but the fact is that the "reds" in this country -- dominated by the insufficiently educated rurals over 55 -- are opposed to Obama in much the same way that the counter-revolutionary "white" Russians were opposed to the Bolsheviks, the conservative, plantation-owning Cubans were opposed to Castro, and the friends and allies of Chang Kai Shek were opposed to and tried to undermine the Chinese Communists after they took over in 1949.

In each case the Russian, Cuban and Chinese socialists went after the counter-revolutionaries like gardeners go after crab grass and dandelions, and it wasn't pretty. Acts of political vengeance never are. All I can say is that as horrible as any act of political repression is and always will be, there's a part of me that at least understands why the Russians, Cubans and Communists Chinese acted as they did. Because I despise the American "reds" as a cultural pestilence. They stand for and support everything that is regressive, selfish, racist, shallow, corpulent and hee-hawish in this country. They are the Chihuahua-embracers, the WALL*E tele-tubbies -- and God save us if their boy wins.

I don't know, but I'm venturing a guess that this McCain voter has a higher education than this grown-up kid who does nothing but watches movies and pontificates on how smart he is compared to mainstream America.

From "An American Expat in Southeast Asia"

"...For the advocates of this perverse militant egalitarianism, reasoned argument is replaced by a conditioned reflex as Obama's legions of lickspittle automatons mindlessly parrot as "evidence" whatever Obama himself has written in any one of his own self-serving books. You see this has never been about the free interchange of ideas or even the ascertainment of truth, this is all about entitlement and nothing not even freedom or liberty is going to get in the way...."

“fairly unradical”? “moderate”? “progressive”?
Obama is further left than any candidate in history.

As far as the various “revolutions” listed, when did the definition of revolution come to mean “instill crushing omnipotent gov’t on everyone and slaughter those who disagree”?

Oh and the Cuban farmers who had their homes confiscated and were shot for speaking out against The Party have now become “plantation” owners?

This article makes fun of itself.

Hoo boy. The followers of Barack Muad’dib Obama (D-Arrakis) are a weird bunch.

I’m starting to think that these nutjobs might just crack up for real if their messiah loses in November. We could be in for some real action, late 1960s style, if McCain takes the election.

And people wonder why I’m a monarchist.

A concise, and accurate, summation.

What a crock. I know for a fact that the biggest plantation owner in Cuba wrote at least one HUGE check to Castro to help Castro overthrow Batista. I know it for a f****** fact. These damn liberals are so damn lazy; they just assume that history will line up with their unexamined prejudices, so they don't even bother to investigate.

Good grief! Wells was smoking some rich choom (obama’s name for it) when he wrote this. It is dispassionately hateful (that’s when you express hate and it doesn’t faze you); and it is as ignorant a piece as I ever expect to see. His concluding passages, adducing the communist purges in some inept allegory, beggars description.

Agreed. I, for one, am honored to be categorized in the same column as Chang Kai Shek. We are proud roadblocks to “progress”.

I have long noticed that these moderate, sensible, and caring people threaten EXTREME violence on a continuous basis. They fail to realize that the people they threaten have many of the same traits as Audey Murphy.

They are the “give peace a chance” crowd that “understands why the Russians, Cubans and Communists Chinese acted as they did.”

Hell yeah. Mao was the bloodiest mass-murderer in human history.

...there's a part of me that at least understands why the Russians, Cubans and Communists Chinese acted as they did.

Of course there is, and it's most of the author, not part, disclaimers about political repression aside. The Left is populated to a regrettable degree by murderous, soulless, callous brats who would be only too glad to stand their opponents up against a wall and have, time and again, taking comfort in the same sort of pathetic hate-filled rationalizations as this one holds dear. "Oh, I would never countenance violence, but shoot them all." Right.

Aside from the sort of thinking that projects his own inadequacies onto his opponents - and after all, Chihuahuas in Hollywood are far more likely to be in the arms of liberals than conservatives - this genius has stated the truth and ought to be appalled by it. He'd understand why some of the most brutal mass murderers in history did as they did because he shares their hatred. There is absolutely nothing more to it than that.

And with one sentence, this nitwit dismisses the deaths of 50+ million people for the sake of political expediency.
