Obama has gone from a pretty commanding lead to a 5 point defecit as of today's Reuters poll.That poll was conducted through Saturday. Today was merely it's published date. It doesn't cover the effect of the Saddleback forum. Gee, DUmmie, I think it's even worse now. :)

The fact is his lead has been shrinking on a daily basis because people are paying attention to McCain's aggressive, negative campaigning. I haven't seen a McLame campaign ad yet. Lots of local/state/congresscritter ads but no McLame ads. That's why I think McLame is running a Bush 1 92 re-election/Bob Dull 96 style campaign.
I WANT to see some mudslinging from McLame.

Well, I agree with the DU’ers on one thing: this election has indeed become less about the incumbent President and much more about the Democratic candidate. McCain’s camp has done a bit to encourage that, but mostly it has (IMHO) come from the MSM and from Obama himself. He’s been hyped from moment one, and the hype has simply not lived up to the reality (does it ever?).

You're right on target. Obama's gone "Kerry and Dukakis" on us. And he said that wasn't going to happen this time. He said he knew what was coming and he would stuff it back in their faces. He hasn't done it. I could have sworn Obama was all new tone, new politics and post-racial. That should suffice to bring him the big win.
