That's the BEST NUANCED explanation I have heard--

if you are standing on your head while looking at the ticket, then it IS right-side up!!!

LOL! Thaks, I needed that.

However, this design is really audacious - don’t you like that word? At any rate, they claim that they designed ot so the candidate would blend into the flag better in the lower left corner. So, to me it seems that the Obama campaign is once more insensitive to all American symbols and decent respect for our flag. To them, their annointed ONE is more important than respecting the proper view of the flag with the blue field of stars in the upper left corner.

Actually, it's the text that's rotated 90 degrees to the left. Rotate the image 90 degrees to the right, pretend the text reads correctly, and you will observe that the flag is properly hung for vertical display (blue field in the upper left), and you will observe Obama in his proper pose looking down on everybody.
