“This should be saved for an October Surprise - NOT NOW.”
Ahh - that’s the rub. Which is really best?
This can create be an Operation Chaos aimed at the convention. It might even be a last straw for those delegates who are beginning to think Obama is unelectible, and they’d end up giving the nomination to Shrillery. Imagine how damaged her chances would be from the backlash. A failure to win this general would take her off the 2012 ticket.
Alternately, this can be aimed at the Obama general campaign. Added to all the issue problems he has, this extra baggage can help ensure his defeat.
I prefer the first option. I’d rather knock the witch out once and for all. Tough call; if it was easy, we’d all be campaign managers.
I'm not a big fan of holding onto Constitutional bombshells until the politically maximizing point in time. I'd rather force the issue now while it's fresh, so the public doesn't feel that it was "gamed" by this.
After the convention, I can very easily see this issue going to the Supreme Court, and I can just as easily see them rule that, in the best interests of an orderly transition of government, they will find for Obama, regardless of what the Constitution says, because the alternative is just too messy to contemplate.
Take him out now and be done with it. Let the chips fall where they may, and we'll deal with that as it arises.
