Why are people so afraid this time around??? A relative told me he gave up on FR and posting here because FR was losing it's bite, tenacity, honesty, whatever you want to call it. It only takes a head line that includes the words "Obama" or "COLB" for FR members to post "yawn....". I'd bet you dollars to donuts that poster didn't even bother to go to the link. I'm glad members of FR back in '03 made the effort, had the curiosity, technical expertise, etc. to make a difference.
For me, it boils down to the issue of dealing with a racist black egotist without calling him racist, or black, or an egotist. It is akin to punching fog.
I’ve seen this forum evolve for 9 years now, been addicted to it for most of those years, and yes, the discourse has to be kept civil because it is such an enormous magnet for vindictive, vitriolic cynics. The moderators are allowed to do their work, and post-election, the FreeRepublic forum will still have its good name to think about.
You will see some threads that have the whole birth certificate expose in them. The fact is, this issue won’t stop the Obama juggernaut. For having had this subject posted so many times, a ‘yawn’ is all some posters can say about it.
Obama is free to disavow any action he has done, reinterpret anything he has said, redefine any discourse he is in, and use racism as a recourse to object to anyone who dislikes him.
Why would he go to Kenya and campaign for his cousin, Odinga, who wanted Sharia law instituted in the country? “Yawn.”
