To defend successfully, he would not only have to provide his own birth certificate but the birth certificate of his mother as well. Assuming he was indeed born in Hawaii, it would suffice to produce his own birth certificate, because, in that case the citizenship of his parents would be irrelevant.

I was focusing on the “natural-born” requirement. There is no doubt that only his birth certificate would be required if he was born in Hawaii. However, a person can be born outside the United States, say...in Kenya, and still be considered “natural-born” for electability purposes. In that case, you must prove at least one of your parents was a US citizen at the time of your birth. Hence the mention of Obama’s mama(if you'll pardon the pun).
