Someone is questioning when this was taken and whether it was photoshopped. Can you help?

The photo is real, but it was taken in Kuwait, not Afghanistan. The EXIF data is intact on this link:

Thanks for verifying...Still, this is the unhappiest group of soldiers I have ever seen along with the unbalanced issues within the makeup of the group.

March he said...and they asked..."How high, Mr. Obama".

That would explain why the BBC changed the photo on their article.

Fr thread:

Obama opens foreign tour in Kabul
BBC News ^ | July 19, 2008

New photo seems legit:

Mr Obama met the governor of Nangarhar province

"What’s MOST noticeable in the picture..."

There's mostly black women in the group.

So I’m out and about on the net and come across this item that completely escaped my attention (tell me if I’m the last peroson in the country to learn this)at the time it occured in May.

It seems Obama had a private meeting with a fellow called Hassan Qazwini in Dearborn, Michigan. This wouldn’t raise my eyebrows normally- (it IS the political season after all) - EXCEPT THAT Qazwini is a bit of an extremist

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/05/barack-obama-meets-secretly-with.html

~snip~

Imam Hassan Qazwini met privately with Senator Barack Obama this week in Michigan.
The Detroit Free Press reported:

A Muslim leader from Dearborn met privately with Sen. Barack Obama during his Wednesday visit to Michigan.

Imam Hassan Qazwini, head of the Islamic Center of America, said in an email that he met with Obama at Macomb Community College. A mosque spokesman, Eide Alawan, confirmed that the meeting took place. During the meeting, the two discussed the Presidential election, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the Iraq war, according to Qazwini.

At the end of the meeting, Qazwini said he gave Obama a copy of new book, “American Crescent,” (his book on why Islam is good for America) and invited Obama to visit his center.

The meeting with Obama came about after Qazwini had asked David Bonior, the former U.S. Rep. from Michigan, if he could meet with Obama during his visit. Qazwini was not selected to be part of a group of 20 people who met with Obama, but Qazwini later got a private meeting with Obama, Alawan said.

....

Debbie Schlussel wrote about Imam Hassan Qazmini and saw Farrakhan speak at his mosque in 1998:

In 1998, the mosque—then in Detroit—was the first mosque to which I went undercover. I wrote about it in The Detroit Newsistan, before the paper became Muslim-occupied territory under such boneheaded individuals as editorial page editor Nolan Dhimmi Finley. At the time, the mosque hosted Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who delivered a long hate-filled rant against Jews and Christians (and in praise of Saddam Hussein). When Farrakhan called Jewish Americans “forces of evil” with a “Satanic mentality.” Imam Qazwini and his congregants gave him a standing ovation. That’s not to mention that the Imam and other Muslim officials introduced Farrakhan as “our dear brother” and “a freedom fighter.”

That was even more pronounced on FoxNews a few minutes ago. The video clip they showed had Obama surrounded by troops, and only one was white. The rest were black, though there were two white guys in the background.

"LOL! A few of them look downright ticked off at whatever he is saying."

Since he does so poorly speaking extemporaneously, I can't imagine he said anything enlightening.

"I don’t mean this derogatory but the composition looks like the kitchen staff."

I'd have to agree with you. I'm sure these fine soldiers would much rather be preparing food for their fellow troops. By the looks of them, they were probably off duty and hoping for some down time, but were forced to be up and at 'em for Barry's photo op.

Why is it when Democrat candidates interact with the military they look like fools? Remember Michael Dukakis riding that tank?

Democrat politicians have called our soldiers murderers, compared them to Nazis and Gulag holders, gleefully pronounced accused Marines as guilty (before their trial even started), and on top of everything else, they don’t want to see our military succeed ANYWHERE as long as Bush is the CIC.

If Obama’s looking for photo ops in Afghanistan and Iraq he’s going to be disappointed. Too bad. You reap what you sew, Democrats.
