First impression: I don’t need to sit through nearly eight minutes of video to know that Obama is not going to get my vote. We live in a soundbite society. This thing is way too long to be useful.
Some people who John recently hired are going to go Medieval on Obama.
It’s going to be a wild ride.
It will serve well as on online resource for people. But you are right that they need to come up with a 30 sec. and 1 minute version of this to use on TV and the web as well.
I agree, my first thought, like you, was “Well gee whiz, Sen. McCain, it’s about time you started to fight back”.
Let me also say, in the inimitable words of that great baseball manager and philosopher, Leo Durocher, “Nice guys finish last”.
I look forward to seeing the shorter versions.
KICK A** awesome ad! Destroy that liar.
Friends: Today I took the opportunity to go listen to John McCain speak at Kansas City Union Station. He had a good crowd. He spoke very clearly and lucidedly. He took the time to take about 15 questions from the crowd of about 2,500 to 3000 folks attending.
The thing that is most striking about him VS the Messiah is that he took the time to listen to the common person asking the question. We really need to make sure we talk up to the anti-McCain folks the point that Obama does not listen to the people. Obama just delivers somebody’s message.
If you get the opportunity to get to a McCain rally or Townhall please go. McCain is a HONORABLE AMERICAN HERO!
And, to follow up on that, Vince Lombardi is supposed to have said "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser."
The anchors for all three networks are following Obama to Iraq supposedly to “interview” him and “report”. In truth, they will give him the questions they plan to ask hours in advance so that his speech writers will be able to write a good answer. It will be nothing but a bunch of Obama boot lickers fawning over him and giving him free air time. No one who is even remotely like Tim Russert will be allowed within shouting distance.
Well, well. John McCain is being 1/4th as nasty to Obama now as he has been to conservatives for the last 20 years. At the point he starts calling Obama a vigilate or a racist, then we’ll know that Obama has fallen as low as conservatives in McCains estimation.
He has really only had to campaign once and that was in for a House seat in which he lost.
He has gone from disqualifying his opponents through legal channels in his first political run, so he ran unopposed, to losing a House seat campaign against an actual opponent, to getting damning court documents of his opponent for Senate unsealed so he ran against a carpetbagger, to being the Dems nominee for President.
McCain is going to eat his lunch.
Agree. Way too long.
Perhaps 30+ seconds could be cut out of it just by removing the fancy wipes. They should get rid of the four-square format, use more of the screen space they have.
Maybe split it into three, maybe four ads, run them in rotation. One minute each.
He is carefully scripted for a reason. He cannot think on his feet. And, frankly, I do not understand how he was allowed to graduate from law school given that limitation.
Further, even if Mr. Russert, God rest his soul, and institution that he was, were still alive he would not be allowed within shouting distance of The One.
I don't think anyone remotely like Tim Russert is left in the liberal media. When Russert died, any credibility the media might have had remaining, died with him.
Maybe split it into three, maybe four ads, run them in rotation. One minute each.
Several good ideas there.
Hopefully the creators, out there in videoblogland, are listening.
It would appear that John F’n Kerry could take lessons from B. Hussein Obama on flipping and flopping.
If, and only if, McCain can get him into something like a town hall debate, or some other venue where the press doesn’t script everything.
If McCain can get Obama out into the open, out into the retail politics forums... then I agree that Obama is going to be in real trouble pretty quickly.
What people need to see is how weak Obama is at extemporaneous responses to policy questions. The public needs to see how lost Obama is when he’s off the teleprompter.
It’s long and tendentious, BUT it will be served as resource fodder whenever the news media needs to bring up contradictions in Obama’s position.
Great for thirty second spots.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
