Maybe. But the more important point is... where did the franchise owner get the money?
Either of you ever own a business? Where does the money to make payroll, pay state and federal taxes, buy equipment and supplies, pay the rent and etc. come from?
Answer: same place the $1,000,000 is gonna come from.
Answer: same place ALL the business's revenue come from.
That's why I said there should be no fines.
GO GET EM!
Under a franchise situation like McDs they don’t really get to pass fines on to the customer. McDs corporate sets their prices. And there’s going to be other near by McDs owned by a different franchise holder so even if they do find a way in the franchise agreement to pass the cost on to the customers that’ll put them at a disadvantage to the other stores which could cost them as much as the fines.
I believe in fines. Yes business may TRY to pass them on, but often they can’t succeed. Business is about the bottom line, if you want to punish a business you have to attack the bottom line. Yeah it looks like a couple of people involved will be going to jail, but you can guarantee it’s not all the people that knowingly hired illegals, so jail not only won’t punish all the lawbreakers it doesn’t punish the business at all.
So local Mcd's will have to increase their prices to pay for the fine - guess what happens - business goes across the street. Part of the money came from the fact that they saved $$$ by hiring illegals. Luther Mack gets no sympathy from me and it is about time there were consequences from systematically hiring illegals.
I currently own two businesses, and I am a managing partner in a third.
A McDonald’s franchise is subject to strict guidelines, including the pricing of its products. You cannot deviate from the prices that McD’s sets for your area.
Good.
Good to see poor illegals have the latest in technology.
Cool! You get my point.
Customers pay all the expenses of a business. Even $1,000,000 fines.
Wish the RATS in Congress understood this basic principle.
McMillion $ Fine — I’m Lovin’ It — BTTT
