In support of her contention that Americans’ driving habits are “excessive” and “senseless,” the Speaker pointed to a recent study showing that rising fuel costs were linked to declining highway fatalities.

She has a point. It's kinda like North Korea's famine has dramatically dropped the obesity rate there.

So Joe bluecollar has to chose between driving to the liquor store and driving to it. If he walks he can get a couple of sixers if he drives, only a short dog.
