Obama was famous in the Illinois Senate for avoiding tough votes by voting present. This tactic, of course, is the last refuge of linguini-spined, unprincipled politicians.
His voting record is at Project Vote Smart, and you can search the database by issue to check particular votes. Check out how many "NV" (No Vote) entries there are, compared to the "Y" or "N" votes.
Here's one sample page.

If this guy worked for a private company he would have been fired long ago for not getting his lazy ass into work to do his job.
Could it be that he was too busy running for president to bother trying out his Senate job first?

I really don't understand how anyone could hold down the (ridiculous) full-time "job" of being a senator and representing those who duly elected him/her, and campaign for the office of President at the same time.
They all do a crappy job, but being absent 90% of the time to be on the trail, lying your ass off non-stop, would seem unreasonable.

I remember an interview with one or more members of the Harvard Law Review recalling that Obama was “hands-off” when he was editor.

With his views and extreme lib history, I’d think the less he shows up for work (and votes), the better.

Just out of curiosity, how does McCain’s record look over the same period of time? The news report I heard this week about the FISA vote made sure to point out that McCain did not vote.

Yeah, but McCain has been there for 25 years and has plenty of qualifications to be president. Obama, from what I can tell, never had a real job other than the 2 Senate slots and didn’t do anything in either one; no legislation, no votes on legislation.

Obama's full time job is "The Messiah". If you don't know that, you must be a racist. Glad I could clear that up.
My wife still calls me a racist, but I'm used to it. At least she winks an eye every time she calls me that. Thankfully, she's never said she was going to cut my n-ts off.
She keeps them safely in a lockbox by the bedroom door, just like most wives.

Obama is also the Chair of a Congressional group on Europe. Since being named Chair, the group has never met... in over 18 months.

True. And I was already thinking that in my head when I posed the question. But I know if people start poking at Obama because of his vote attendance it will just be thrown back at McCain for being worse.

Obama has never done an honest day’s work in his entire life. “Community organizing” isn’t work, nor is being a career politician.

Community organizer is a very hard job.

Community Organizer?? Member of the Trinity United Church?? Senator who misses votes??, questionable friends?? Just what else don’t we know about this man who seeks America’s first job?? There is a story today in the American Free Press about Obama and three members of his church who were murdered, the latest in Nov. of 07. Read about it there and then think about just what else there is we don’t know??

I’ve heard that before, but very little has been made of it. This is another thing McCain’s campaign should repeat, repeat, repeat...

Wanna see something really scary??? Obama's Global Tax Proposal Up for Senate Vote AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 12, 2008 It appears the Senate version is being pushed not only by Biden and Obama, a member of the committee, but Lugar, the ranking Republican member. A nice-sounding bill called the "Global Poverty Act," sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations... http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-global-tax-proposal-up-for-senate-vote/ ...In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Millennium Declaration also affirms the U.N. as "the indispensable common house of the entire human family, through which we will seek to realize our universal aspirations..." Obama is a puppet for "One World Government". Read the whole article at the link above...It will scare the crap out of you!!!
