No they wouldn't. And judging by the way they have governed in recent years, neither would many of today's Republicans.

I doubt it. As I'm writing this, I'm watching President Bush give a speech at Monticello. It's combined with a naturalization ceremony. While he's been talking, you can hear some morons yelling in the background. I can't tell what they're saying, but it wouldn't surprise me if the likes of Code Pink got in to deliberately disrupt the ceremony and speech. I hope that's not the case, but they're track record isn't very good for things like that.

Megan Kelly just confirmed they were protesters, but didn't mention if they were from a specific group.

I think today’s Democrats would have problems with the “Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness” language. Might have to red-pencil that.

Thank you Bill Dupray.

...Unlike the United States, the United Kingdom had no Abraham Lincoln, no Emancipation Proclamation, no Gettysburg Address, no words “all men are created equal” chiseled in marble in a memorial in the heart of its capital. It simply is not the same country as the United States. In America’s Declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom, our fundamental differences were clearly stated in the defiant declaration of the ideal that “All Men Are Created Equal.”
