OTOH I had to have my birth certificate reissued before applying for passport....My father's name, mother's name and my name were all misspelled. They also had date of birth wrong. When I took the document to the health departments with other verifying documentation and my father, it was discovered that the records were correct “in the book” but the clerk that typed the certification had “fat fingers”.

Huge difference, would you, when signing your name, make a spelling mistake?

Simple answer to this one is...the application for a bc was lodged by someone who couldn’t spell Madelyn, nor the name of the street...but they could use a typewriter.
