One problem with that, The Honolulu Reporter burned down in 1951 and wasn’t rebuilt! The two papers the announcement appeared in were The Honolulu Advertiser and The Honolulu Star - Bulletin. The Star Bulletin was bought by Canadian interests in 1996 and archives are avaiable on-line from that year forward. The story about the announcement in The Honolulu Advertiser goes that someone came in looking for the paper which the announcement would have appeared in and lo and behold the librarian just happened to have it in a file folder on her desk because of a previous request for it. And btw I have some ocean front property in Idaho I’m looking to sell!
