Obama is probably showing the original, off the record and in private, to the mainstream media to immunize himself for future issues. When the right tries to raise a real issue he will remind the media these were the same fools who thought he forged his own birth.

To borrow Dick Morris's metaphor, this whole issue is part of the cape, not part of the matador.
