There will be places that manage to preserve knowledge and an enlightened culture, but these will be relatively few and far between. Few and far between? Not as long as there's a Pizza Hut delivery and Mom's credit card!

Some of the DU FU’s have a higher moonbat content than others, IMHO. This one’s definitely up there.

Loony-left divinity-school dropout, Al Gore and his cohorts are engaging in * perception management * and their weak-minded, maniacal moron followers (DUmmies, KOmmies, Huffies) are buying their false facts about climate change.
Perception management --> a situation where someone creates facts and spews same. Operative word = creates aka lies for mass consumption.

Also accept the fact that this century will see a human dieoff to the tune of about three billion excess deaths. The best we can do at this point is preserve accumulated knowledge and the values that go along with reducing rather than increasing violence over time. What we're headed for is a centuries-long dark age driven by the consequences of overshoot & collapse. Dammit! There goes the personal jetpack I was promised....

Ideally a town with a small university, farming capabilities nearby, minimal risk of town-wrecking disasters such as tornados and earthquakes, and relative climate stability. Problem is, it is so hard to eat right in Candyland.

Anybody Have a Ranch In Paraguay that they can sell me? Ranch in Paraguay, you say? You're in luck. I've recently inherited a ranch in Paraguay from the Prince of Nigeria. I've set up an escrow account to accomodate the transaction, you just need to e-mail me your banking information and we'll do business.

Or sacrifice the "university" criterion and search based on the rest of those, looking for a healthy local economy with a mix of practical skills. Finding those places is difficult but that's what you need to do.
I found one!

I've been beseeching my parents to stockpile food for the last year, but they're generally dismissive of my concerns. What are the rest of you doing?
I've still got my stockpile from Y2K.

When they try to argue that climate scientists are "bought off" by the environmental lobby. Like there's big, big money in environmentalism. Pssst. They weren't "bought off." They are at the top of the pyramid scheme. You're at the bottom. Your little money funnels up to them. Small change to the millions of suckers at the bottom means big profits at the top.
Even better, when you can convince the suckers that anytime the temperature or frequency of severe weather being above or below the mean is caused by something humans can control, the more money you can get flowing up the pyramid.
A good rule of thumb: If someone tells you that something is above or below "average," ask what the standard deviation is. If they can't tell you, or their eyes glaze over, good chance they are lying to you with statistics.
