I have acquired additional information related to my earlier posts today (at my blog) on the subject of Barack Obama’s ‘Certification of Live Birth.’
My first post on this subject, Obama Birth Certificate, Fake?, included an analysis that I came across by a blogger named Polarik, who concluded based on “20 years of experience in computers, printers, and typewriters” that the document provided by the Obama campaign (and published by Daily Kos) was manufactured.
In a subsequent post, Certification of Birth from Hawaii: Where’s the Seal?, I showed a ‘Certification of Live Birth’ from Honolulu County for Patricia Decosta, which I found posted at Free Republic (thanks to reader shainzona). (And yes, I know it’s a “right wing” publication but that does not make the information false).
Here is the document posted by the Obama campaign on its Fight the Smears website as evidence of Obama’s birth in Hawaii in 1961:
And here is Ms. Decosta’s certification:
Now, compare the two documents. Polarik’s technical analysis notwithstanding, my lay person’s eye noticed three differences right away:
1. Ms. Decosta’s certification displays fold marks, which you might expect to see on a document sent through the mail.
2. The certificate number on Obama’s document is blacked out; Ms. Decosta’s is not.
AND
3. An embossed seal is visible on Ms. Decosta’s certification; there is no embossed seal on Obama’s. (You can see the embossed seal very clearly on the larger image at FR here.)
The Vital Records office in Hawaii has confirmed the following with respect to requests for certified copies of birth certificates:
1. Certifications of live birth are always mailed from the VR office, and never transmitted electronically.
2. Certificate numbers are never blacked out.
AND
3. Certifications will always have an embossed seal.
It looks to me that it's likely that Obama is qualified, but it's a mystery why this document was allowed to be offered in the first place. If it's a fake, it should be called out as such and thoroughly discredited if only to reinforce the precedent from 2004 and fake Texas Air National Guard memo. CBS refused to acknowledge it for days, and the MSM is just plain ignoring it now.
Yes, it may have been a prankster on Kos thinking he was helping, but it was linked on the Obama campaign site, and that gave it legitimacy. If they are going to play with fire again during a presidential campaign, then they should get burned when exposed.

AT this point, I don’t want the birth certificate because, coming from Chicago, I know that anything can be doctored.
What I want are the hospital records and the original birth certificate, with his foot prints. I want his Apgar scores, and the names of the people there at the time of his delivery. We have two hospitals listed as the hospitals where he was born in Honolulu, (See my earlier posts here)....He needs to prove which one is the real one.
I’m betting money that this man was not born in the USA.
And if he was not born here, he is not a citizen, based on his circumstances.

Just because your parents are American citizens doesn’t make you a naturally born citizen. If he was not born in the USA he is NOT a natural born citizen. He is a citizen of Kenya who later became a USA citizen. You would not be eligible to run for the presidency.

YEs, what you said is true, i.e. that if he were born outside of the USA with American parents he would be eligible, but in this case his mother does NOT meet the criteria.
Clearly, if he were NOT born in the USA he cannot be declared a naturally born US citizen. If he were born here, then he would be and the matter is closed.
He may be hiding things on he original BC that are more embarrassing for him than disqualifying,.
BUT I’M DARING ONE REPORTER TO BRING THIS CONTROVERSY UP AND ASK HIM POINT BLANK ABOUT THE DISCREPANCY OF WHAT HOSPITAL HE WAS BORN AT. WHY IS QUEENS LISTED ON HIS WEBSITE AND KAPLIOLANI, ( WHICH DID NOT OPEN UNTIL 1989) ON WIKEPEDIA?
Read 55 carefully. There are exceptions to that rule of thumb. As I quoted in 55. Obama does not meet the exception criteria.
If he were truly born in the USA he would be a naturally born citizen of the USA. I don’t think anyone would deny him that. I wouldn’t.

Is there any chance there’s some kind of probational timeline before a new state acquires all the legal status of the other states, for example, that people born in it immediately after admitted as a state, are automatically US citizens?

What bugs me is two different looking certs having the same rev. #s.

Please read my follow-up posts down the thread, especially #83 and #90. I believe those posts nail down the fact that Obama is a natural-born American citizen. This is a non-issue and is a waste of energy. Obama is vulnerable to rational criticism on many, many points, but not on this point.
You make valid points that REALLY need to be cleared up BEFORE the November elections. Otherwise, the situation will be like sKerry and his records that were never released. If osama gets to be POTUS, the questions will never be answered and the information will be “lost”.

The requirement for one-American parent citizenship, for children born abroad, includes AMERICAN residency of the American parent of at least 2 years, following the age 14. Hawaii was American, for almost exactly ... 2 years in 1961.
If Obama’s mother was in Hawaii, that’s almost exactly 2 years, could be less?...
Was she abroad at any time between age 14 and Obama’s birth in 1961, outside of Hawaii?
The math is interesting. It really does seem, like something is being hidden.
He would not qualify based on my post #55pissant, I believe my post #83 correctly interprets what condition (g) for natural-born American citizenship means. See also my summarizing post #90.
On the basis of those posts, I believe it's clear that Obama is a natural-born American citizen regardless of where his American mother gave birth to him.

ONE bit of evidence that the Birth “Certificate” is a fake is that it lists the father’s race as AFRICAN! In the early 1960’s no jurisdiction would make a mistake THAT egregious. African is a geographic location, not a race, which should have been Negroid. The mother’s race, Caucasian, is correct, however. Could this document have been forged by an Osama Obama supporter?
