Instead he used racial and ethnic slurs. He could have then written what was there. Niggers and Kikes were his chosen words. He is a racist, but that is already known.
Obama has a double standard in this regard. He endorsed, campaigned for, and raised money for a former Ku Klux Klan member who used the "n-word" on a cable news program a few years ago. Obama is nothing but your standard leftist hypocrite.

There is no such thing as “hypocrisy” on the left, if that’s what the intent of exposing this is. They have no standards, so no “hypocrisy”.
And, on the substantive things - most of his supporters LIKE Marxism, even though they’d never admit it in so many words - “yes, I support Obamas x,y,z policies, but I don’t support socialism, marxism, or communism, and neither does Obama”.

From what I've read of Obama’s book he does seem to be obsessed with race. Racial identity plays a disturbingly large role in his life. But, as others have mentioned though I don't think this particular graffiti quote is any big deal.

I understand that that was what was written. A racially sensitive person would not have used those terms to relay the info. Those are his words. So this man who had to leave NY because of the hateful words in the Columbia men's room, then uses those same words. If they are so offensive to him, would he not think they would be offensive to his readers. Both words could have been replaced without losing the meaning of what happened.

When Jesse Jackson called New York City "hymietown," a small sign appeared in my very Jewish neighborhood saying "Hymies for Jackson." That was hilarious and biting at the same time. To say the person who put that sign up was using offensive language totally misses the point and the wit.

Barak should not be given a break. It doesn't matter in what way he used the words. according to the tenets of liberalism, any time any one is offended, an apology must be issued.
Yes, I know that I am being as petty as they. Too bad. No more free passes for liberals. It's not a big campaign issue, but it should be noted that Obama used racist and Anti-Semitic language in his book, when it could have been avoided.
His copyeditor probably took the quote marks off, and I would have done the same thing.
