Am posting this FWIW. I have no idea if Matthews really threatened to quit, have never seen this blog before.
If he really did make the threat, I think MSDNC should let him go. I am sure Lifetime or Oxygen would give him a show.

In fact, the sources add, Matthews, who clearly supports Barack Obama, has threatened to resign if the network aggressively pursues the story.
Is that a promise, Chrissy?

Chrissy, a thrill runs up my leg just thinking about “the tape”.
To: freespirited
All the more reason to air the tape. Even if it didn't put a dent in Hussein's poll numbers, it would be worth it to see that pompous dung sluice Matthews go into full tantrum mode and quit.

If true it indicates Matthews attraction to Barak Obama is more important to him then his duty as a journalist.
And the Dinasour Media wonder why no one trusts them anymore>
Gee Chrissy, if you are willing to suppress this news, just what other new stories over the years have you and your network suppressed or ignored for political reasons?
In which case, MSNBC is not a news organization but an advertising firm and should be subject to the same campaign and truth in advertising laws as any other PR firm.
