Isn't Yergin one of the chief anti-peak-oilers out there? He says there's still plenty left.

To put some reality into the conversation, someone needs to detail just how much oil we can realistically expect to get from ANWR or the OCS and other domestic sources, both in terms of billions of barrels, and in terms of millions of barrels per day of production. And how long it will take to bring these online.

I think we would have 50 coal to liquid plants by now if we had begun to build them 30 years ago. Dept of Energy has had $5 billion a year to do something along those lines and it should be done no problem.
