Someone asked the same question on FR a few months ago.
Apparently, no one has verified it one way or another.
My gut feeling is that he did NOT register when he should have, and still hasn’t to this day, but if called on it, could have some Obama supporter working close enough to the Selective Service office to plant some false documents.
I remember hearing about someone 30 years ago, friend of a friend, who knew someone who never got the necessry bach. degree, but had a friend working in the records area in a college in Chicago to plant false records-

so that they could be looked up, confirmed and sent out to the schools he’d applied to as a teacher. The friend was paid handsomely for it.
No one as of yet seems to have put the question to him, point-blank, about registering for the Selective Service.
It wouldn’t sink him but it might lose him enough votes
to put the final nails in his coffin as a Presidential candidate,or President. If he indeed didn’t register,I’d like to hear his explanation, along with not putting his hand over his heart onstage there with Hillary and Richardson et.al. during the StarSpangled Banner; for both,. could he get away with “I didn’t really know you had to do that”.??? Shouldn’t a potential President know you had to or atleast should do both things? It’s not at all hard to come up with an example a day of how insulated and
out of touch this guy is from traditional American life.
He’s been living in a nice comfortable little bubble, aided and abetted by all the supporters he’s been so careful to flatter in the ongoing orgy of self-congratulation that is his campaign, and that bubble is going to burst sooner rather than later.

It’d be a good thing to ask him at a town hall meeting.

While the questions may be vetted in advance, there is NOTHING they can legally do to you for asking something other than was pre-approved on a card. To do so is to admit that these debates are as staged as the “Twenty-One” gameshows of the 1950s.
