Welcome to our city!

Interesting you would see that. The Shabazz that owns that restaurant is indeed related to Malcolm X (a cousin or something).

She ran for office locally using that fact. She lost.

The Victory/MLK area is actually not near as bad as it use to be. With the spread of the Savannah College of Art and Design, all of the old buildings are being fixed up so they can get huge rents from sucker students and yuppies who don’t know they are getting ripped off.

Hope the rest of your stay in my fine city went ok!

Savannah was fantastic. We checked out as much as we had time for, or before collapsing from all the walking we did. We did see many of the design students biking around town with sketch pads and the like. I told my girlfriend that even Savannah’s “bad” neighborhoods looked better than other city’s best historic districts. Also we toured the house Jim Williams restored (the Mercer-Williams House Museum) and even met a guy that worked for Williams. We’re likely to return next year, there was also a lot we missed seeing.
