In her later years she lived in Manhattan. Her trilogy of books at the end of her life was about how she felt about Islam as well as the Catholic Church (she was agnostic and socialist). Like only a few liberals such as Christopher Hitchens, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Ron Silver, she saw the greater threat that Islam posed.
In Italy, she was under threat of arrest for “hate” speech.
Now wait a sec... that doesn't make sense to me... if there was an arrest warrant for her... why do they want to build a plaza in her name now?
