Look, before we get our panties in a wad...Olbermann is not a journalist...nor is Rush. And if you were to be honest, Rush is as hard on the left, as Keith is on the right.

I’m no Olbermann fan by any means and don’t even take a second to watch him...but let’s not get overboard on this stuff or the Fairness people will be all over us.

Point: Olbermann is not a journalist. He is an opinionist (he opines). He is an entertainer.

Rush is not a journalist. He is an opinionist (he opines). He is an entertainer.

Rush is just 20 times better and gets paid accordingly. Olbermann gets paid accordingly (and hint, hint...it ain’t nearly, hardly, like Rush’s compensation).

Rush is really not comparable to Olberman. However much he may clown around, he speaks seriously to his audience and reveals himself to them. Blame the medium, but there is nothing of this in Olberman. He is pure performance.

Balderdash, Olberman is a member of the UnAmerican Democrat party, an propagandist for the Islamic Cults, a conspriazoid, a liar, an aider and abettor for our enemies in two war theaters, a traitor, he slanders and smears America and our men in uniform for a living while posing as a journalist. He deliberately deceives the public while being paid by NBC News.

Never mention Rush in the same breath.

Well, Rush radio. The audio they’re talking about here is from Keith O’s tv show. As a rule, talk radio is more audacious and free-wheeling than primetime talk tv. Radio is pretty clear-cut, while many talk tv shows are presented in a quasi-journalistic format.

Unlike libs who refuse to watch or check out (even once!) any of these shows they’ve “heard” oppose their own views, I (and many other conservatives) watch them all - on cnn, msnbc, fnc and hnn (glenn beck). My best argument to libs & indies I know is simply this - ONLY FNC and Glenn Beck consistently have people of 2 (or more) sides on every night, equally represented, to talk about issues. I never see this on keith o, chrissie matthews or the cnn crowd. So, while Bill, Sean and Beck are “just pundits”, they’re a damned sight fairer than those “legitimate journalists” who dominate the network news nightly, spinning it all to their decidely leftist slant, clad in an air of factual objectivity.

You are very wrong. Olbercreep is extremely mean-spirited and hateful. The same is not true of Rush. Rush is making fun and having fun. Olbercreep is not. He is a mean and evil little creep.

then you haven’t seen Olbermann sitting at the returns desk with Chris Matthews on NBC’s election night coverage (Nov ‘06), not as a pundit, but as the reporter? You haven’t seen BOR and Hannity in similar roles on FNC, but you still want to set up the kind of equivalence you describe?
