The article, after a detailed description of the rampant corruption in the police department, states: “No defense can be stated for someone who would attack an officer of the law, and none can be given.”

Not true.

If the police have abused and flaunted their power and have adequately shown they have NO respect for the citizenry they allegedly serve, then they CANNOT expect to be shown ANY level of respect whatsoever BY the citizenry.

If a police officer is illegally using force against a citizen then that citizen has the same right to defend himself against the criminal police officer as he does against a “common” criminal attack.

And at sentencing (asuming he lives), the criminal COP should receive FAR MORE punishment than the “common” criminal, because the cop has violated the single most sacred public trust that exists in a civilized society.

As I have said before on other threads: The police need to recruit MORE Andy Griffiths and FEWER Barney Fifes and wanna-be-Rambos.

But they seen to go out LOOKING for Fifes and Rambos. It appears to me that most police departments target the WRONG psychological profile for their recruits.

(As with most things, there ARE exceptions, of course).
