I say a civil case is the way to go - he should show she had an intent to defraud him, and then ask for a judgment to be levied against any of her future earnings...

It would be far better to destroy her credit and wipe out her accounts in advance. It would be even sweeter if her earnings to be garnished were to include any income earned by future spouses or gifts from friends/lovers.
