If you want a true window into someone’s soul, listen carefully to the words coming out of their mouths. Especially the words they offer when they are wallowing in their own inflated self-image and sense of importance.

I have contributed to Mr. King’s wealth by buying his books. He is a gifted and prolific writer. His early work was more appealing to me than his recent. Maybe it is because I was younger then and not nearly as selective about the written words with which I chose to saturate my brain. Sort of like the high school students Mr. King shared his philosophy with.

He is prolific, but his books are the literary equivalent of Velveeta.
